Anywho, here we go "Reflections" by Lynn Montgomery. It is a Slash Highlander novel (Methos/Kronos, Methos/OC, Methos/Caspian). It takes place after the big friendship break up between Methos and Duncan over the fact that Methos was part of the Horsemen back in the Bronze age (because Duncan can't deal with the fact that what is right is tied to the culture of the time). It is also past the episode where Duncan kills Methos' friend Byron because he might cause someone else to die again -- he's not a serial killer, he just convinces other artists like him to do stupid things which could lead to them dying. Anyway, their friendship is in tatters at the beginning of this fic and for some unknown reason Methos and Duncan decide to take Joe on a world tour. Needless to say things are tense. Duncan insists on taking Joe to all these sites with historical / cultural significance when really he's just trying to get information on Methos' past. He manages to find out more than he'd planned when he takes them to a historical farm that has been in existence for 3,000 years and guess who was a slave there ... This novel is very graphic and has a lot of violent imagery (Horsemen and the Bronze age so sort of to be expected). That being said it also has great Joe and Methos friendship.
