Vidding Bootcamp has two separate courses this year, with sessions on Fridays and Sundays. You can find more info on them at https://www.dcslash.org/events/vidding-bootcamp-2023.
Classes will start in the first week of May, with the first zoom sessions starting on May 5.

Starting off our announcements, the dates for DC-Slash Con 2023! This year the con will be held July 14-16, remaining online.

ConCom changes and updates! aaronantium is now the official chairman for DC-Slash. In addition, we have added two more members to ConCom: ViddersAdmin and hardboiledbaby. This leads us to our new 6 member ConCom that has already been working away to make this year's con a success!

Registration is now live! Everyone can register at Registration Link. The link is also available on our website under the registration tab. Pricing will change as the dates approach, but the current pricing is $5 until March 15.

Speaking of forms that are going online, vidders aren’t being left out of this update! Two forms for vidders are going live today, one for the vidshow and one for our vidding programming. The vidshow form will be for vids that are being submitted for our regular vidshow on Saturday night, here’s the link for that form: Vidshow Submission Link. The vidding programming form is for our new vid time slots in our video programming room: Video Programming Submission Link. While there is a 3 vid per person limit on vidshow, there is no limit on the vidding programming blocks.

DC-Slash Con's Panel Suggestions Form is also live at Panel Submission Form The form includes questions such as: Title, Description, Panel Category, and Style of Panel. You can submit an unlimited amount of times, although please only submit each individual idea once. All submissions will be able to be seen at DC-Slash Programming Page (This will not show moderator or suggester username). The first vote on these suggestions will open in May, so there’s plenty of time to get your suggestions in, or if you haven’t thought of any, to brainstorm a few. Plus, if there happens to be a show that comes out between now and then, there’s time to make a panel for it.

If you have registered, you should have received your Update email with your link for the Tech Checks and the Convention. If you haven't, please contact me. Everything but the link is available on https://www.DCslash.org.

Tech Checks are tomorrow at 12:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. EST so that people are able to find a time that they are available.

The Vid Show has 34 vids, 13 are premiering, and it includes at least 30 different fandoms. It will be on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. EST and replayed on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. EST. (Check the Schedule on the website to see what time that is in your time zone.)

The Programming Schedule is available on the website. Any changes are clearly marked in red so that you know that it has moved. We still have some moderator spots available if you want to lend a hand.

Friday night we have two events that you can sign up for -- Celebrity Dating Game and Elevator Pitch.

Celebrity Dating Game has 3 attendees pretending to be their favorite characters and 1 attendee asking dating game questions. Good at improv? Know your favorite character well enough to pretend to be him or her? Drop me a line to play.

Elevator Pitch: Looking for a new fandom? Want to pitch your fandom? Each participant gets to do a 1 minute elevator pitch for their fandom and answer questions from our audience about their shows. Let me know if you want to do a pitch.

DC-Slash Virtual Con, August 13-15, 2021
We will be holding the first Virtual DC-Slash Con. Information about registration is available on our website - www.dcslash.org/home/dc-slash-con. Registration is still live and we will be posting the schedule hopefully by Tuesday of this week. We are still accepting vid submissions if you are a vidder or you are friends with a vidder.

Monday Night Vidder Chat at 8:30 p.m. EST
On Monday nights, you can join us in the Babylon-4 room of our Discord Server to watch vids, discuss issues you are having with your vid or your vidding process, or just to compare notes.

Thiel and Boerne from Tatort Muenster

Tatort Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. EST
Thursday nights we are showing an episode of Tatort with English subtitles. This is a wonderful German show and we usually focus on Tatort Muenster because it is the most lighthearted and the slashiest of all the Tatort franchise.

Saturday House Party 3:00 p.m. on the First Saturday of the Month
On the first Saturday of the month, we meet in the Babylon-4 room of our Discord Server as well as in Kosmi to chat, chill and watch stuff together like we did when we could all be in the same room.

Saturday Binges 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays
When it isn't a house party, we still get together for binges in Kosmi (app.kosmi.io/room/caqu1x) to binge a show or some movies. The upcoming binges are listed on our Google Calendar, available on our website.

So tonight is a new to you episode that we haven't shown yet -- Hinkebein. Basic synopsis: Boerne's ex-girlfriend shows up just in time to get killed. Boerne is worried that it all has to do with a case they worked together back in the day. Meanwhile, Thiel is using the case as a way to not have to hang out with the Russian police who are visiting as some sort of cultural exchange/public relations deal.

Q: How long does this event last?

A: Bingo Cards are good for 2 months. We’ll keep this running, but if you go over two months and want to participate, you’ll need a new card.

Q: How long does it take to receive a card after applying for one?

A: As quickly as I can get it for you…

Q: Which fandoms can we write for?

A: Pretty much anything. It can be something big like MCU or something small like BBC Ghosts. The only thing is it must be a media fandom so no RPF and no original fic (original characters are fine as long as it is part of a fandom fic.)

Q: Can we make our own cards, or do we have to get them from you?

They have to come from us so we know who is taking part. Sorry.

Q: Are there any prizes?

A: We’re making different emojis (one for each minimum level, bingo & blackout) that you will be able to use on the DC-Slash Discord.
